As you all know we have had to cancel the Lady Aberdeen dance for another year due to Covid restrictions. The Lady Aberdeen club had sponsored the tea dance each year on Remembrance Day since 1939. It was taken over by the Vancouver branch of the RSCDS in 2010 when the Lady Aberdeen club ceased to exist. Proceeds from the dance have always been donated to various charities, the war effort, veterans’ organizations and other charities, and for the past few years to Honour House. Honour House is a refuge, a “home away from home” for members of our Canadian Armed Forces, Veterans, Emergency Services Personnel and their families, especially important in these difficult times. We would like to make donations to Honour House this year despite the fact we, again, cannot get together for our dance.
Any donation is, of course, voluntary and the amount is totally the decision of the donor. However, you might want to consider what you would have spent attending the dance and buying raffle tickets.
If you would like to make a donation, we encourage you to do so via the Donate button below. If you would like a tax receipt (for donations over $10) please ensure that you select Yes in the dropdown box below, and the Branch will forward a receipt to you.
