The Gleneagles SCDC is one of the largest clubs within the Vancouver Branch with an approximate membership of 90 dancers.
It was formed in the early 1960s using the Gleneagles Golf Clubhouse in West Vancouver, from which our club name is derived.
For the past number of years the club has been based in North Vancouver.
Classes for the current 2007-08 season are located in Braemar Elementary School, 3600 Mahon, North Vancouver.
Classes for basic and intermediate dancers are held on Monday nights and for experienced dancers on Wednesday nights. Both classes run from
7:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
In addition to regular practices, the club hosts two parties per season – one in the Fall, the other in the Spring.
A major event in the club’s calendar is the annual Gleneagles Ball held in December each year at the Vancouver Fairmont Hotel.
Gleneagles is a very social club welcoming both new and experienced dancers to participate in all our club activities.
The dance program is under the direction of May Loudon who teaches the Experienced class.
The Basic and Intermediate class is taught by Marie Disiewicz.
